In transition....

"To a place where grass doesn't grow and birds don't lay eggs...."

Day 7 (7 August '07)

After checking out of the hotel at Disney World, we took the shuttle bus back to the Orlando International Airport....

The shuttle bus::At the airport
At 11th floor of the airport building::With the control tower

With time to spare, we had our lunch at the food court area where i had Chick-Fil-A sandwich. This fastfood restaurant is also found at Cedar Point but never had the chance to try it.

A lot of eateries::My sandwich and chips
The snacks on board of flight::Soaring above the clouds

After our lunch, we boarded the plane for a 1.5hour flight to Atlanta, Georgia. Arriving at Hartfields-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, we still had 2 hour to spare before our connecting flight to Phoenix, Arizona. So we had our early dinner at 5pm...

Popeye's chicken is very nice::Onward air ticket
Video game at booth::Waiting to fly

The flight to Phoenix took about 4 hours, but due to time difference of 2 hour, the flight only seemed to take 2 hours...

High up in the air::Touch-down at Phoenix
The design of airport::Broken luggage

When at Phoenix, the time was about 8.30pm and the sun was setting. The view at the airport showed some desert landscape and we realised, we were at a desert place!

How exciting at the thought of that. Ha.

At Orlando, the top handle of my luggage broke, and now at Phoenix, my side handle broke. So i only left the trolley handle to carry my luggage around.

When we stepped out of the airport, the weather was overwhelming hot. Even at night. Probably in the 30s degree Celsius. From there, we took a shuttle bus, thanks to the driver who agreed to bring us to closer to the Greyhound bus terminal.

Sometimes, 'near' is a relative term that in USA, it is actually further than the 'near' when used in Singapore. Luckily we didnt walk from the airport to the bus terminal when on the map, it looks near. Ha.

The shuttle bus we took::The street looked deserted
Lost in transition::Arriving at Flagstaff

Well, going to the Phoenix Greyhound station was to take a bus from there to Flagstaff which is some 3-hour ride away.

On the bus journey, i occasionally woke up to see millions of stars that filled the pitch-dark sky in the desert. A sight i would never see in Singapore. A pity i was in my sleepy state, else i would really stay fully awake to admire the sky.. Ha.

When we arrived at Flagstaff at around 12.45am and stepped out of the bus, what surprised us was the temperature. It probably dropped to around 15 degree Celsius which was cold, a stark contrast to Phoenix.

Then from the Flagstaff bus terminal, we had to walk to our hotel in the cold midnight. We got lost a bit, but still managed to arrive there safely after 40 minutes of figuring out.

The small hotel room

We were too tired since our body clock was supposed to be almost 4am when we slept, but Flagstaff's time was 2am...

From Orlando to Atlanta to Phoenix to Flagstaff..

The next day's adventure would be more exciting....
