Cincinnatti + shopping Trip

This time, 7 of us applied 2 days leave and went to Cincinnatti – a big city in southwest of Ohio on 4th and 5th June.

We rented a MPV car, collected our car early in the morning and began a 4-hour drive down to Cincinnatti. Lucky I wasn’t the driver, yet.

Cincinnatti looks like any other cities like Cleveland or Chicago – has high-rise buildings, towers and proper traffic lights.

Our first visit was to the Cincinnati Museum Center. We watched the Omnimax movie about the Alps which was quite stunning and real from the large screen and visited one of the museums (there are 4 museums all under one roof) - Museum of Natural History and Science. It is quite a large place and has lots of stuff to see, from stones, to ice-age, to fake animals, to fake caves..

After the visit, we went to the main city center and took the lift to the 49th floor of Ohio tallest tower. It was a nice view up there but pity, we only stayed for 15 mins since we arrived late and it was closing.

Then we drove across and bridge and realized we had gone onto another state – Kentucky. So we walked around the mall there and crossed a pedestrian bridge. So in fact, we were actually moving from Kentucky to Ohio and back to Kentucky. Ha, so funny.

And we got too infectious with the SMU jump (and with lots of NGs)!

And we had our ice-cream dinner from Cold Stone Creamery. We chose our flavour and they mixed the ice-cream with lots of stuff. Damn sweet but delicious, and for a big cup and cost US$5+.

The next morning, we left the hotel for our shopping trip an 1 hr drive away from Cincinnatti. Another factory outlet stores. Though it has more stores as compared to Aurora's, there wasnt much additional sale, and almost everything were the same as Aurora's. So in the end, didnt buy much. But we spent much on food though. Ha.

Attempts to act cool model with our shades,
but couldnt help laughing

And then we embarked on another 3 hour drive home. I was the driver this time. The small roads we used were dark and looked eerie, with trees lining on both side of roads. And the weather was cold, making the road occasionally covered in mist.

Travelling at 80mph (140kmph) was a thrill. But the average cars on highway drive at around 120kmph though.

Once, a squirrel or some animal was acrossing the road. I jammed the break, held my breath and closed my eyes.

A 'CRACK' was heard and felt under the front right wheel. I felt so traumatised. But we continued on. We got to. It was very late already.

And we got lost once again, after missing the sign and turn. We were travelling away from our destination then. Lucky we realised soon, albeit 30 minutes after that miss and made a U-turn then.

In the end, we only reached at 1.30am. And after some grocery shopping again, finally bed time at 3.30am. And i still got work at 8am!

How i wish i don't have to work.

Next: Niagara Falls trip tomorrow!
