Okay, a month ago (21 June) was d'hop's 2-day dance workshop and now im finally have time to at least talk about it... haha.
This workshop was more like a crash course on other dance styles. Just like the last workshop in December 2007, it was a 2-day event, with 3 classes.
This time we had Krumping by Mornin' and New School Hip Hop by Ahmad on day 1 and Street Jazz by Zee and a mini-competition on day 2 (22 June).
Krumping is a very aggressive, full of anger and power hip-hop style and has really made us body-ache the next day. A full body workout indeed.
On the other hand, New School Hip Hop is more lyrical, fast-paced and grooving. But certainly not as physically demanding as Krumping. Ha.
New School Hip Hop
The next day kicked off with all groups practising on their own choreograph for the mini-competition to be held at the end of the day.
The bad thing for my 'housing' group was we only had time to start choreo-ing on that morning when the other two groups had already started on the previous day. So we had very little time to prepare...

Then Zee's Street Jazz was similar to the December's workshop, but with a little bit more choreograph. It was interesting though.
With about an hour more of preparation to go after Zee's class, our group basically panicked. And in the end, we really didn't work out well, thanks to poor memory to recall steps. Ha. But it was fun though. On a side note, we did have proper 'National Day' costume to work with. Lol.
After the workshop, it was chilling time in the studio till late night, but it was work again for most people the next day...
Spoiler.
I still have a lot of back-dated entries and i hope to finish before 1 Aug. Ahh... 9 more working days to go!
