Earth Hour 2008

Yesterday was Earth Hour 2008, do you know about it?

Well, Singapore does support this event, but not much publicity has been done.

In fact, 300 students and a minister gathered at some community center to mark this day and off the lights at 8pm.

I don't know if they switched off the hall's lights only or the entire community center's premises. But from the news on TV, the moment the lights were switched off, they lit up their light sticks and waved in excitement.

So what's the point? They generated so much wastes by using the 300+ light sticks and disposing.

As for Sydney, they put up fireworks.
