Conspiracy
I really think it was funny...
Today during our lecture, our dear Prof HJZ was relating her experience of toxic waste in NUS.
More specifically, she always smells something funny in her office. A wierd smell.
And recently, somebody actually burned rubber in the laboratory and the hazardous gases, or rather, Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) produced filled the air. Then, there she was in her office and she could smell the gas. She questioned why the students who burned the rubber didnt do it in the exhaust hood.
She made an investigation and realised the corridor didnt have the smell, the lab didnt have the smell, other offices didnt have the smell. Only her office had the smell.
She got so worked up that she made a complain and some technicians came to her office to check for leakage in exhaust pipes or unsealed ceiling. But everything was alright. Well, apparently she was arguing with them how they should solve the problem for her and not her solving herself.
At one point, she was saying perhaps the exhaust hood pipe is connected to her office which will explain the smell present.
Nonetheless, she said during the holidays, she will be doing her own investigation and find out why there is always smell in her office. She seems really resolute in this matter.
But now, after some thinking, i think someone must be trying to kill her. A conspiracy to poison her slowly by connecting the exhaust pipe to her office. That will explain why the corridor and other offices do not have the smell, but only hers has.
But then, she is quite nice, so others came out with another conclusion - someone must be trying to kill Prof B whose office is next door and is someone that, in fact, many people hated.
So unfortunately, the job wasnt done properly. The exhaust pipe must be connected wrongly.
Poor Prof HJZ is the victim of this.
